Team Building - Badminton Tournament

Today, my department is having Badminton Tournament. We were gathered at Jubilee Hall at 1.45pm. The participants been group into 4 teams, each team had 10 players, 5 doubles per team (3 men double, 1 women double, 1 mix double). And the team name.. ehem.. 2 of the team were using quite a normal name, Smasher vs Ultimate. And the other 2 teams, still in the dilemma of election, Reinventing II vs Just Change It. (BN vs DAP) :P haha.. Which team I was in? The opposition. ;)

The shuttlecock on the line

I was playing for women double at the first round. I was not a good player, don't know the rules and don't know the techniques. :P My aim was to hit the shuttlecock to opposite field. haha..

I "was" good at badminton before, during my secondary school. That time, Malaysia won the Thomas Cup at 1992. Since then, the sport became so popular for next few years. It was the favorite activity after school hours. I played with my siblings and neighbors, at the alley of our terrace house. Sometimes, I did played with school mates at badminton court too. Oh gosh.. what a sweet memories... At that time, my youngest brother was at primary school, but I brought him to play with secondary school mates. Hahaha.. he was better than some of us.

Ops.. Wake up from the past.. Back to the team building. :P I was playing in women double at the first round, my partner was not bad too, 4 of us not really understand the rules, listen to the judge where to stand, who to serve. :P My skill is rather rusty, made lots of mistake, silly mistake. :s And you can guess the result, lost. But not so bad la, not a very big gap to the game point. After my game, of course I need to support my other team mates too. ;) But, I did go to next court, if there was any excited match there. :P

supporters beside the field

I was surprised, as some of the colleagues can play very well, they are very professional players. Some of them were school player, university player, even a national player (I believed it, then after few days, someone told me not really, just same name. :s ). Some managers also can play very very well. It was enjoyable while watching their matches, they got high spirit, the skills and energetic. I must have more practices, so next time can play better. :) I do not hope that I can defeat them, but at least not so many silly mistakes. :D

I thought I only need to play one match, but, there was second round, my team was having another round to determine the 3rd and 4th place. This round, I played mix double, and played against my BossES, my direct manager, and his manager. Arh.. no chance to win, cause my manager is a skillful player. But, I still kept the spirit up, this was the only chance for me to beat my managers, I tried my best to play, and... lost.. with pride. hahaa.. For second round, my team had better score. This time the strategy was better than first round. During the first round, the Captain Joe was resigned when we lost 3 matches... haha.. He got some credits for his second strategy though. :D

Captain Joe apologizing

The result, the champion was Smasher, 2nd place go to Reinventing II, 3rd to Ultimate and my team got 4th place.. yaya.. we lost with Pride. :D The prize was Sunshine voucher for each player. Stingy?? No la, we played for fun, not for prizes. All of us sweat a lot, having lots of excited time. The players have good spirit, the supporters cheers loudly, there were someone showing the temper (ala.. just acting la..). Everyone has FUN!!!

Some of the colleagues did not participated in the game, but still very supportive, cheers for the good players and clapping for the good moves. ;) And the final match was splendid. Top 4 players, played for men's double. This was friendly match. The top 4 were chosen by the fans. haha.. great uh.. They already have the fans within few hours. This side smashed the shuttlecock hard, oh oh.. the other side able to save it, hit it over, smashed again, over again.. in? out? IN... yeah.. one point.. The supporters were as tension as the players... hee....

Friendly match - TY and Eric

Friendly match - Sim and LK

We had 2 professional photographers at the field. They took the photos at every angle, stand on the stool, squat beside the court, even laying on the floor. Snapping the action of the players, the expression of the supporters, the winning pose... :D 2 photographers are different, KS snapshot more of the actions of the player, while CK photos show face expressions. :)

See the camera? Looks so professional

This was an appreciation from department manager, who sponsored the game and prizes. According to him, the money was the "contribution" from others while they gamble during Chinese New Year. The session was to thank all of us for our hardworking and the extra hours we put in the works. It was held during office hour, which mean we were off from work after lunch, kind of give us a half day leave. hee... Everyone enjoy the session very much, and looking forward for more activities in near future. ;) Sincerely thanks to the manager and organizers.

Waiting for Specialist

I had a follow up medical check up of my thyroid symptom. The blood report is good. :) Previous visit to the hospital, I had spent 5 hours there for doctor consultation. This time break the record, 6 hours!!! I was in the hospital at 7.30am. The registration was started at 7am, I thought I was pretty earlier, but after I got my number, the registrar told me, my estimated time of consultation was 11:55am... oh no, have to wait so long... again???!!! Sigh... I went to their cafeteria to have breakfast. They serve vegetarian food only. I had porridge and soya bean milk, light breakfast, so that I won't fill too stuffy when sit and waiting. Read newspaper to pass my time. Buddy called me at 10.30am... haha.. just about time, I was so bored, we went for Lor Mee at Burmah Road, inside Kedai Kopi Hai Beng . The serving was fast, within 3 minutes after order. :P Or maybe at that moment, not many customer. Buddy was very tempted to try this Lor Mee few weeks ago, finally we had it. You can...

Weakening

Why I always have endless tasks on hands? One haven't done, boss assigned another one. And the next day, assigned a new task again, seems like he forgot I still have non completed assignment. :( Oh ya hor.. He recalled, "never mind, that one can wait, do this first." Oh oh.. I hate that excuse. Wait wait wait... eventually, I need to complete them somehow. The longer the time, the more tasks accumulate. He never consider how many effort I needed to complete the task, always think I can do magic, all task can be completed by fingers click. I extended my working hours, try to complete the assignment by the end of the day. Everyday, I will have to deal with many unexpected issues, if I do not solve them within a day, the next day might have new issues, and next and next.... arghhhhh.... headache.... I am so tired, I feel so weak, mentally and emotionally weak. Recently, people around me keep on telling me that I look so pale. I think I really look terrible. I know...
