My department having team building today. We are heading to Sungai Sedim, Kulim, Kedah. We reported ourselves at company in the morning. The organizer provides us simple breakfast, sandwich and kuih. We having our breakfast while waiting for depart at around 8.30am. We reach the transfer point, and take the van to Sungai Sedim, as the route ahead is not reachable by the bus. Along the way, there are lots of construction works, the Kedah government did spend lots of money to develop this recreation area.

There are other groups of participants here. We changed our T-shirt and gathered at the waiting area. The organizer leads us to a tree top walk. At first, I thought it going to be another canopy walk, but this one is a solid steel kind of canopy :P The distance is around 900KM. The weather so hot, we walk along the trail, taking some photos of the tree and river. One thing special about the sign board along the route, it measures the height using millimeter (mm). I wonder why they do not use the meter instead, maybe they try to create illusion that the trail is "high".

We back to rest area and having a break, eating fried mihoon. The next activity is walk hunt. We separate into groups. We have to find the answer to the clues; the answer will be around the whole recreation area and must be completed within 1 hour. Do you know what the slow moving fruit is? It is Durian Kura-kura. haha.. The team that completed the hunt can have lunch. No complaint of the food, as in the jungle area, our dishes are good enough though: veggie, fish and chicken. :D
While waiting for next activity, the obstacle course, the group getting boring. A group of people start to play card game. :P The obstacle course is not really that tough, we need to go down thru a slippery trail to a stream. We have to crawl thru a "tunnel", it's actually the obstacle create using palm or coconut leaves. We get wet at this point, some get wet from inside out because have to stay to the ground to get thru. :P Then, get thru the stream, pass by the trunk piles, slide thru an empty and muddy trunk, and get back to the point thru another slippery slope. We back to rest area... and... wait for a long time for next activity, flying fox. :( We are boring. The flying fox not that excited if compare to the Pulau Jerejak. This one is above the flat ground and the speed is much slower. While the Jerejak is above a rocky river, and can slide faster because the different in the height of start and ending point is bigger.
Some of us go to the river, enjoy the cooling water there. Tea break time, we have mihoon, sandwich, kuih and coffee/tea. The organizer announces the winner, then we go back to Penang.
This is not a very efficient team building event. We spent more time in waiting. The actual activities take less than 2 hours. :s The activities do not boost much of the team spirit though.
Some of us wish to back to Penang earlier, as Lee Chong Wei will be competed in Olympic badminton match at 6.30pm. This is much more excited than our team building. :P We straight away rush to nasi kandar restaurant opposite our office once reach there.
